Please join me in congratulating Silvina Di Pietro. She was recently selected in the second team for the ALL USA Florida Academic Team. Now, she has been selected as a 2010 COCA-COLA NATIONAL FINALIST! Selection as a Coca-Cola Finalist was based on scores earned in the All-USA Academic Team competition. This scholarship is sponsored by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and is administered by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Finalists receive a $1,000 prize. Again, take every opportunity to congratulate Silvina for her outstanding achievement, which earned our entire college, PTK Mu Mu Chapter, the Honors Institute, and HSC this recognition.
Di Pietro's close involvement can be seen by her participation in Brain Bowl in 2009 and her position in Broward College Women's Tennis Team since September 12, 2009. "When my BRACE high school advisor mentioned that I qualified for a scholarship from the Broward College Honors Institute..., " she explained, "I felt it was a win-win situation. Now, a year later at Broward College, I feel that I made the best decision towards accomplishing my goals. The attention and dedication from professors, the resources from the college, and the ample number of opportunities that BC has to offer is beyond what I could have asked for. Not only are my parents happy with the decision I made, but I am 100% proud of being a Lady Seahawk." Broward College has certainly benefited from her decision to be a Seahawk. Her outstanding achievement is an honor for our entire college, PTK Mu Mu Chapter, the Honors Institute, and HSC.
