This coloring book was prepared by the Broward College Honors Student Committee (HSC). It is dedicated to students of all ages in South Florida. It is a product of our belief that part of being in the Robert “Bob” Elmore Honors Institute, and part of what it means to receive so much, is to give back to our community. In order to help students prepare for college, we must begin preparing them in the primary grades.
Children should be encouraged to see college as a goal that they can accomplish. The road to college should begin early in ways that are interesting to them. The first booklet ends by telling children that “college is cool!” HSC wishes to emphasize Superheroes who go to college and do cool things…
The main character of the “Max-imize series” is named MAX. He attends Broward College. He is in good company. See below for a list of popular superheroes who attended college:
It is time to talk to children about college in a way that grabs their attention. HSC
wants to begin with some simple coloring books that we can give to schools which have
children from under-represented groups.
