The Bike-Loan Program offers bicycles absolutely free for students to use to come to school. The Bike Loan program is part of the HSC Green Initiative, one of the aims are to reduce parking congestion and pollution by encouraging students to ride bikes to school.
Honors Student Committee has acquired numerous bikes from donors that are now being used by students who live close to the campus as an alternative to transportation by car or bus. Students can borrow a bike for an entire semester for free, to ride back and forth from home to school.On November 5 2009, free bikes were given out to students during a campus event "Zip Code Connections" to promote environment sustainability. Another Zip Code Connections event will be held this semester and more bikes will be given out to continue this initiative.
