The Honors Student Committee (HSC) seeks to enhance the leadership, service, and learning experiences of every student at Broward College. Our goal is for each student to maximize their experience and minimize their excuses. We believe that every student can become a leader.

On December 19, 2009, we had the opportunity to visit people of the Homeless Voice and share Christmas gifts with them. The Homeless Voice is an organization that provides care to homeless individuals who suffer from mental disabilities. This organization provides meals, clothes, and medical care - just a few of the comforts most of us take for granted.
We are delighted to see our website mentioned in the President's Report of Broward College. Our innovative use of this website to run this organization has set an example for other student organizations of Broward College; they look forward to our website as a role model. As of now, we have more than 50 members and we continue to grow. We appreciate our member's support and hope they continue to use this website.
Just in time for the Holiday season, a group of Honors Student Committee members volunteered at Feeding South Florida, formerly known as the Daily Bread Food Bank. On Friday December 4th 2009 the students arrived at the brand new Pembroke Park facility at 9:00 am to begin their work. In early October a fire destroyed 93,000 pounds of food at the food bank's Lauderdale Lakes location speeding up the prior plans to move into the new facility.
